It's May 3rd, 2019 and I work a legit 9-5. Before this job I worked at the restaurant and the hours were 10-10. That's what I grew up knowing, so I didn't understand why there were so many 9-5 quotes or what they meant. I finally looked up the meaning and now I understand all the 9-5 quotes. I even hear others quote it all the time. They state, "oh just living the dream and working that 9-5". It basically just refers to a normal or routine job. A job that is boring and unfulfilling, but people work it to receive a paycheck. I'm not saying my job is boring. I mean I do the same things everyday, but what I keep in my head is the difference. What I do with every paycheck is the difference. With each paycheck I know I'm steps closer to my goal of financial freedom. That's what keeps things exciting. Who doesn't like achieving their goals?
A 9-5 isn't terrible like everyone says they are, it's what you do after your 9-5 that will determine if you stay there or not. I know there are some of us out there that have no clue what we want though. We don't know what kind of business to open or how to even get a loan to start one. We don't know how to make investments or passive income. I'm not making excuses for anyone, I just want others to start thinking about what they want. Don't become comfortable with a life, that won't keep your dreams and options alive. It's overwhelming. You have bills, rent, and a child. I might not be you, but I know how powerful a dream can be and you'd be surprised of what you can do to try and reach it.
So, take a breath, as long has you have a plan/goal then you can endure much more than you think. Now, when I say "I work a 9-5 so that I don't have to work a 9-5" the first thing that should come to mind is your plan and how you will execute it to get out of the 9-5 game. You have something to prove to yourself and others around you, so show them with results. For more details/tips on how to achieve your best potential stay updated for my first book.
